Feras Al-Baqain

Feras Al-Baqain is the current Finance Director at QANDIL. Prior to this, they worked for QANDIL Swedish Humanitarian Aid Organization from December 2013 to April 2019, where they served as Finance Director/Deputy Country Director. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all financial, project/program and grant accounting, and shared their findings with the Country Director. Feras also coordinated and led the annual audit processes with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors, and oversaw the annual budgeting and planning process.

Feras has a long history of experience in financial management and accounting. Feras has a deep understanding of the regulatory environment and statutory financial statements. Feras is also an expert in developing and implementing financial management and accounting systems, financial policies and procedures. In their previous role at QANDIL Swedish Humanitarian Aid Organization, they were responsible for monitoring the regulatory environment and statutory financial statements, as well as supervising finance and accounting staff and developing their capacity.

Feras is a highly skilled and experienced financial professional. Feras is a strong communicator with the ability to effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors. Feras is also an expert in organizational cash flow and forecasting. In their previous role, they were responsible for leading the interactions with donors on financial reporting. Feras is a competent leader with the ability to develop team capacity via on-job training or finding external training as needed.

Feras Al-Baqain began their educational career by obtaining a Leading with Finance Online Certificate Program (eDiploma) from Harvard Business School. Feras then went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Yarmouk University.

Feras Al-Baqain reports to Hussein Botani, Country Director. Feras Al-Baqain works with Mohammed Abdul Jabbar - Legal Manager, Sada Shah - M&E Manager, and Hady Rateb - Protection Manager.
