Gene Orloff has an extensive work experience spanning from 1988 to 2017. Gene started their career in the US Navy as a Machinist Mate, 2nd Class Petty Officer in 1988. After that, they worked as a Senior R&D Engineer and Manager of Systems Engineering at Kumetrix Inc. from 1997 to 2001. Gene then moved to Phoenix Bioscience as the Director of Engineering from 2001 to 2005. Following that, they worked as an Engineering Project Leader at Tyco Healthcare from 2005 to 2007. Gene then worked as a Sr. Project Manager at SurgRx from 2007 to 2008 and at Ethicon Endo-Surgery from 2008 to 2011. After that, they worked as a Director Program Management at Iridex from 2014 to 2017. Lastly, they worked as a Sr. Director Program Management at Q'Apel Medical, Inc. from 2017 onwards.

Gene Orloff attended San Diego Mesa College from 1992 to 1995, studying Physics. Gene then attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1995 to 1997, where they earned a BA in Physics.
