Lakshman Gupta Kanamarlapudi has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Lakshman Gupta started their career in 1998 as a Management Trainee at Hindustan Unilever Limited. In 1999, they moved to Discovery Channel as a Manager of Finance. In 2003, they joined Sony Pictures Networks India as a Senior Manager of Corporate Development. In 2005, they joined Tata Communications as a Deputy General Manager and developed business growth initiatives in Media & Entertainment. In 2017, they became the CEO of MAGICA PTE. LTD., where they incubated a digital content startup and produced two series of content. In 2019, they joined Qapita as COO & Cofounder and Partner, where they work on a digital equity management platform for private companies.

Lakshman Gupta Kanamarlapudi received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian School of Business in 2003, where they studied Analytical Finance and Leadership & Change Management. Lakshman Gupta also obtained their Chartered Accountant certification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India between 1993 and 1997, and their Cost & Management Accountant certification from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India between 1993 and 1996.

Qapita is a Singapore headquartered digital equity management platform for private companies, particularly start-ups. Its software, QapMap, is designed to enable capitalisation table (CapTable) management, employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) management and digital ESOP issuance with the aim of eventually enabling digital share issuance for companies across South and Southeast Asia. Qapita’s vision is to build a network of stakeholders and digitally enable private investments and transactions in the future. The firm is founded by three experienced cofounders, each with over twenty years of track record in investment banking, corporate venture capital and technology sectors. The business has offices in Singapore and India. Qapita raised funding from a group of investors led by Vulcan Capital. Reputed investors from the region including K3 Ventures, Koh Boon Hwee, Mission Holdings, KDV Holdings, Alto Partners Multi Family Office, Atin Kukreja and several NorthStar Group Partners also joined the round. It was then followed up by East Ventures with a strategic investment.
