Mark Barberan

Mark Barberan is the current COO at Qapital. Prior to this, they were with B&H Financial Services for 7 years, where they served as Vice President. B&H Financial is one of New York’s largest and most convenient providers of alternative financial services. Licensed by The New York State Department of Financial Servies, their stores offer payroll, government, check cashing, wire transfers, money orders, bill payment, direct deposit, prepaid debit cards, and more.

Since its inception in 1957, as B&H Check Cashing, B&H continues to expand the suite of financial services offered to ensure the most underserved and under-banked neighborhoods have access to affordable, secure and quality financial services in a convenient and regulated environment. Under Mark’s leadership, the company saw significant growth and expansion. Mark was instrumental in growing the company and taking it to new levels. Mark is a respected leader in the industry and their experience will be a valuable asset to Qapital.

Mark Barberan has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from NYU Stern School of Business in Accounting and Finance and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland.

Mark Barberan works with Erik Akterin - Co-Founder & CTO, Beth Gilson - SVP Finance, and Jonathan Perkel - General Counsel. Mark Barberan reports to George Friedman, Co-founder & Co-CEO.
