Jan Urbanek

Product Designer and Head of Design at Qasa

Jan Urbanek has a diverse range of work experience in various design roles. Jan is currently working at Qasa as the Product Designer and Head of Design, where they lead a team of designers and focuses on designing features, building a design system, and improving product usability. Prior to that, they worked at Dustin Group as a Product Designer, where they led the creation of the company's first atomic design system and played a key role in crafting their new brand identity. Jan also wrote their Master's thesis on nudging in payment apps while working at the design agency Mobiento. In addition, Jan has experience in game design and development, having worked as a Game Designer and Developer for Splash, where they developed a 3D game from scratch. Before that, they worked at Volvo Cars as a UX Designer and QA, where they gained a thorough understanding of various aspects of product development. Jan also worked at Boss Media AB as a UX Designer and Tester, where they designed and tested Svenska Spel's first native mobile game. Jan's work experience also includes creating digital assets for the retro gaming frontend Hyperspin as a Graphic Content Creator.

Jan Urbanek has a Master's degree in Interaction Design from Chalmers University of Technology, which they obtained from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they studied Fine Arts and Sculpture at the Gothenburg School Of Art from 2016 to 2017. Jan also holds a Bachelor's degree in System Science from Linnaeus University, which they completed from 2008 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Jan has obtained several certifications. Jan received an Intercultural Competence Certification from Chalmers tekniska högskola in October 2017. Jan also obtained a Test Automation certification from Informator Utbildning in December 2014 and an ISTQB FL certification from ISTQB CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE in August 2013.
