Grant Pattenden

Grant Pattenden is an experienced pilot currently serving as Captain at Qatar Airways since June 2023, operating a Boeing 737 MAX (B73M). Prior to this role, Grant held various positions at FlySafair, including Training Captain for Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-400 from January 2021 to May 2023. Grant's extensive experience in aviation spans over two decades at South African Airways, where roles included Senior Captain for the A330, UPRT instructor, Senior Training Captain for the A320, and Senior First Officer for multiple aircraft types, including the A340 and Boeing 747. Grant holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Africa, earned from 2008 to 2012, and completed secondary education with a Senior Certificate at Northwood Durban North from 1986 to 1990.
