Rakesh Sanghvi has over 25 years of work experience. Rakesh began their career as a Senior Accountant at Ernst & Young, where they worked from September 1988 to March 1993. Rakesh then joined Ahli United Bank in 1996 as a Senior Manager in Corporate Banking, where they worked until May 2005. Following this, they joined Ahli Bank, Qatar as Deputy Executive Manager in Corporate Banking from May 2005 to August 2006. Rakesh then returned to Ahli United Bank as Head of Corporate Finance from September 2006 to January 2009, and later served as Group Head of Risk Management from January 2009 to September 2013. Currently, they are the Group Chief Risk Officer at Qatar Islamic Bank, a position they have held since September 2013. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all areas of credit, market and operational risk management, including information and cyber security risk for the bank.
Rakesh Sanghvi completed their education in a chronological order. Rakesh started their educational journey at Kendriya Vidyalaya from 1971 to 1981, where they completed their Senior school secondary examination in the field of Business/Commerce, General. Following this, they enrolled at Shri Ram College of Commerce from 1981 to 1984 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Commerce with honors (B.Com (Hons)). Finally, from 1984 to 1987, they attended Lovelock & Lewes in Delhi, where they pursued studies in Accounting & Finance, eventually earning a CA degree.
