Robert Carter is a Senior Archaeology Specialist at Qatar Museums, a position held since April 2022. Prior to this role, Robert served as an Archaeology Advisor for the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities from February 2020 to March 2022, focusing on Bahrain's maritime heritage and the historic pearl fishery. Robert's academic career includes roles as a Professor and Senior Lecturer at UCL Qatar, as well as Research & Consultancy Manager at Oxford Brookes University. Robert began in the field as Research Director for the Qatar Archaeology Project in 1999-2000. Robert holds a PhD from UCL, specializing in defining the Late Bronze Age in Southeast Arabia.
