Siona Rounis has extensive experience in educational administration, currently serving as a Student Information Specialist at qathet School District (SD47) since September 2018. Previously, Siona held multiple roles within Nanaimo School District from 2009 to 2015, including School Secretary, where responsibilities involved clerical support for both elementary and secondary schools. qathet School District provides public education to 3,000+ students K-12 in the qathet Regional District on the traditional territory of the Tla’amin Nation. There are six elementary schools (Grades K-7), one secondary school (Grades 8-12), an alternate school and a Distributed Learning Program to support home-learning families called Partners in Education (PIE). The qathet Region is a unique coastal community located 140 km north-west of Vancouver and within the heart of the Sunshine Coast.
