Dr. Philip Risse

Dr. Philip Risse is a Senior Manager in Product Excellence Integrated Assays at QIAGEN, where responsibilities include leading a team for failure investigation and process improvement, managing contamination for integrated assays and forensic products, and acquiring innovative production technologies. Previously, Risse held roles as Senior and Process Scientist at the same company, focusing on similar areas of technology acquisition and process optimization. Before that, Risse was a Research Scientist at Developmental Biochemistry, AG Gessler, and completed a PhD at the Graduate School of Life Sciences, University of Würzburg, with a thesis on kidney development and Wilms tumor. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Biowissenschaften from the University of Münster. Risse has also chaired the Eureka Symposium committee and held a research fellowship at the Weis Center for Research, where contributions involved mapping tyrosine phosphorylation sites on YAP Oncogenes.
