Jonathan Shaffer

Jonathan Shaffer is a seasoned professional in Research and Development with over a decade of experience at QIAGEN, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of NGS Assays. Former roles at QIAGEN include Director of RNA, DNA, and Multimodal NGS Assay Research & Development, as well as Associate and Senior Scientist positions focused on next-generation sequencing assays for gene and miRNA expression analysis. Prior to QIAGEN, Jonathan worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at SABiosciences, contributing to product development in protein expression and epigenetic modifications. Jonathan holds a Master of Business Administration from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from West Virginia University.
