Andrew Niven

Indigenous Partnership Manager at QIC

Andrew Niven has a diverse work experience that includes various roles in both the public and private sectors.

Andrew started their career at the Queensland Treasury Corporation in 2016, where they worked as an Associate, focusing on whole-of-State financial services.

In 2017, Andrew founded their own company called Smart Excel, where they served as the CEO and Founder.

Andrew also worked as a CrossFit Trainer at CrossFit 4000 from 2017 to 2018.

In 2018, Andrew took on the role of Business Development Officer at Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation.

Andrew then joined the University of Queensland in 2019 as a Senior Data Analyst, contributing to the institution's research and teaching efforts.

During this time, they also served as a Board Member at the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health, leading and developing comprehensive primary health care services for the Indigenous population of South East Queensland.

Andrew's involvement in the Indigenous community continued as a Board Member at Brisbane ATSICHS, where they supported the provision of primary health care services to Indigenous individuals in Brisbane.

In 2020, they joined QIC as an Indigenous Partnership Manager, focusing on fostering partnerships with Indigenous communities.

Most recently, in 2021, Andrew became a Board Committee Member at yourtown, contributing to the organization's mission of supporting young people in need.

Andrew Niven completed a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, they also obtained a BSB40812 - Certificate IV in Frontline Management from the Australian Institute of Management.
