Angela Whitcombe (nee Zappala)

Angela Whitcombe (nee Zappala) has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Angela currently works as a Human Resources Officer at QIC since 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Human Resources Business Partner at Aurizon from 2019 to 2021, where they worked closely with Engineering and Operational leaders to implement people initiatives and provide guidance during organizational restructures and conduct investigations.

Angela also worked at UGL as a People & Culture Coordinator from March 2019 to July 2019, handling onboarding and offboarding activities for contract employees and managing employee files. Angela also worked as a Recruitment Coordinator at UGL from September 2018 to March 2019, where they onboarded candidates for various projects and managed candidate processing and site inductions.

Before that, Angela worked at Talent Blueprint as a Recruitment Resourcer (Engineering & Construction) for a few months in 2018. Their responsibilities included candidate phone enquiries, creating job advertisements, and submitting shortlists to clients. Angela also gained experience as an HR & Recruitment Administrator at Placements International from October 2017 to May 2018, assisting with recruitment and mobilization of personnel and conducting reference check interviews.

In 2017, Angela had an internship at Cancer Council Queensland in the Human Resources (People and Safety) department. During this time, they contributed to the development of new company policies and procedures and performed site safety checks.

Angela's earlier work experience includes roles as a Barista at Starbucks from March 2016 to September 2017 and as an Active Stylist at Lorna Jane from February 2015 to February 2016.

Angela Whitcombe (nee Zappala) pursued their education at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2014 to 2017. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in Human Resource Management.

In addition to their degree, Angela Whitcombe has also obtained the certification of MAHRI from the Australian HR Institute in March 2021.
