Darthea Clydsdale (Dee)

Darthea (Dee) Clydsdale has a comprehensive background in information risk and security. Darthea (Dee) began their career at PwC as an Assurance Vacationer in 2013, where they gained experience in preparing and auditing financial statements. Dee then joined EY as an IT Risk Assurance Vacationer in 2014.

In 2014, Dee returned to PwC and became a Consultant through their basecamp program. Darthea (Dee) specialized in controls testing within SAP environments and gained skills in internal audits, statutory financial audits, and IT controls testing. Dee continued their career at PwC as an Information Risk Analyst from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they developed the information security framework and policy documents for the organization. Darthea (Dee) also managed audit and assurance functions, improving the visibility of information security across the organization.

From 2018 to 2019, Dee worked at QIC as an Information Risk Manager. Darthea (Dee) provided leadership and direction to achieve objectives related to the use of information as a strategic asset. Dee also played a central role in data and information governance, providing guidance to senior management and ensuring compliance with prescribed standards.

Currently, Dee is the Manager of Information Risk & Security at QIC. In this leadership role, they collaboratively deliver security services and strategic planning aligned with business objectives. Dee is responsible for strengthening the culture of accountability, governance, and risk management in the information and cybersecurity domain. Darthea (Dee) manages QIC's in-house Cybersecurity Team and serves as the key contact for critical security vendors and owner of strategic business relationships.

Darthea (Dee) Clydsdale began their education at Clayfield College from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained their high school certificate. Darthea (Dee) then pursued a Bachelor of Business/Corporate Systems Management degree at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2011 to 2015, specializing in accounting. After completing their undergraduate studies, Dee attended Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand from 2015 to 2019, where they became a Chartered Accountant with a focus on accounting. In addition to their formal education, Dee has obtained certifications including Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in July 2022 and PRINCE2 - Foundations from Yellowhouse.
