Mark McDonald

Mark McDonald has extensive experience in operations and technology management. Mark served as the Executive Director of Operations and Technology at QIC, where they led a strategic technology transformation and Middle Office Transformation. Mark was responsible for CAPEX, OPEX, and managing a team of 120 employees. Mark provided enterprise vision and leadership through their participation in executive-level committees and reported on technology and cybersecurity at QIC Board meetings.

Prior to QIC, Mark held various roles in investment operations and technology management. As the Head of Investment Operations at CFSGAM, they delivered a new operating model and implemented a productivity program with over 200 improvements. Mark also established a customer service culture and recruited talent for leadership potential.

Mark also worked at State Street Global Advisors as the Global Head of Hedge Fund Operations and Head of UK Portfolio Administration. Mark established new operational structures, processes, and controls to mitigate risk and comply with regulatory requirements. Additionally, they led the implementation of a front-office platform to support derivative and hedge fund businesses.

Earlier in their career, Mark served as the Head of Operations at Plutus Capital LLP and the Head of UK Hedge Fund Operations at DEUTSCHE ASSET MANAGEMENT (UK) LIMITED.

Mark McDonald attended University College Dublin from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree. After completing their undergraduate studies, from 1996 to 1997, Mark pursued a Master of Business Studies degree with a focus on Strategic Management and Planning at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
