Sam O'Sullivan

Chief Risk Officer at QIC

Sam leads QIC’s Risk Management Group which is responsible for managing risk and governance at QIC. Under Sam’s leadership, QIC’s Risk Management Group focuses on Investment Risk, Operational Risk and Workplace Health and Safety.

With over 20 years’ experience in risk management, Sam joins QIC from Aurizon where he was Head of Risk and Assurance. Prior to joining Aurizon, Sam spent three years at a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund in the position of Manager, Investment Services, where he worked with investment teams across real estate, private equity and infrastructure. Sam was also previously the Head of Investment Performance and Risk and Head of Investment Compliance and Risk Management at QIC.

Sam is a graduate from the University of Queensland in Economics and Arts (Psychology) and has a post-Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Economics from the Securities Institute of Australia and Certificate in Energy Risk Management from Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management.
