Alex Zhou

Mr. Alex Zhou is a Partner at Qiming Venture Partners. Alex has over 15 years of working experience in venture capital, startups, and high-tech companies.

Alex joined Qiming Venture Partners in 2014, and focuses on investments in frontier technologies (such as artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous driving), enterprise software, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, etc. Alex has worked as board director/observer with entrepreneurs at four "unicorn" companies - UBTech Robotics, Megvii (Face++), Unisound, and Tongdun – and other high growth startups such as ABC Fintech, Chaitin Technology, RoboRock, Eigen Technologies, XSKY, TigerGraph, SequoiaDB, Transwarp, IDSManager, ReelSky Data Systems, Mech-Mind Robotics, Yunyinggu, HYperstrong, DSTcar, etc.

Prior to Qiming, Alex worked for KPCB (Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers) in Beijing and Silicon Valley, where he was actively involved in TiDAL Systems (acquired by Micron Technology). Before beginning his investment career, Alex worked for HP (Hewlett-Packard) and oversaw the company's data storage business unit in China. Alex also co-founded Rethink Technologies, a startup focusing on managing unstructured data.

Alex was ranked by China Times as one of China's Top 10 Best Young Investors in 2018.

Alex holds an M.B.A. degree in finance and entrepreneurship from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Harbin Institute of Technology. He is co-chairing the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of China.
