Simon Thwaites

Simon Thwaites is a dedicated research professional currently serving as a Research Assistant at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute since December 2022, focusing on clinical trials within the Clinical Brain Networks Group. Prior to this role, Simon worked as a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Technician at the Queensland Neurostimulation Centre, where personalized TMS treatment was provided to individuals with major depressive disorder and related conditions. Simon's experience also includes a significant tenure as Media & Communications Advisor to the 31st Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Australian Parliament and as Marketing & Communications Manager at Fisher Adams Kelly Callinans, a leading legal services firm. Additionally, Simon held the position of Director of Client Services at ComRes, directing account management and marketing within a renowned research company. Simon is currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Psychology at Queensland University of Technology, complementing a robust educational background including degrees from the University of Oxford, The University of Queensland, and Monash University in psychology and history.
