Sr. Engineer (Hardware Security & Compliance) at QLess

Ammar Alsibai has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ammar started their career at Optivus Proton Therapy, Inc. in 2012 as an Engineering Team Lead, where they automated proton therapy device testing and developed a front-end web interface for data collection. In 2014, Ammar interned at Datamancer Keyboards as a Test Engineer, gaining experience in CNC programming, 3D printing, and durability testing. Ammar then joined RadioShack as a Sales Technician, specializing in iPhone and Samsung galaxy repairs. In 2015, they worked at Go Direct Inc. as a Sales-Systems Engineer and IT Administrator, responsible for systems and server maintenance, and scripting in Python, Java, and C++. From 2016 to present, Ammar has been with QLess, Inc., initially starting as a Support Engineer, providing software and hardware support to clients. Ammar quickly progressed to become a Hardware Engineering Manager, establishing the department and developing relationships with top vendors. Recently, they have taken on the role of Sr. Engineer (Hardware Security & Compliance) at QLess, where they have implemented security policies, controls, and compliance frameworks such as the Soc2 type 2 audit, as well as educated and trained employees on compliance and security. Throughout their career, Ammar has demonstrated expertise in hardware engineering, support, scripting, and compliance.

From 2009 to 2015, Ammar Alsibai attended California State University-San Bernardino and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
