Mike Potter is the current Chief Technology Officer at Qlik. Prior to their current position, they held senior leadership positions at CA Technologies, IBM, and Cognos.
Potter began their career in software development at Cognos, where they eventually rose to the position of Associate Vice President Engineering - Master Data Management and PowerCube Development. In this role, they led a multi-disciplinary team focused on technologies and products in the areas of Master Data Management, business modeling, OLAP, and OLAP ETL.
After five years at Cognos, Potter moved to IBM, where they served as the IBM Director of Development Business Intelligence and Cognos Platform. In this role, they were responsible for leading a 500+ person team located in multiple locations worldwide. Mike oversaw all aspects of software development from envisioning through to delivery across several product lines.
Most recently, Potter served as Senior Vice President Engineering at CA Technologies. In this role, they were responsible for leading a 300+ person team focused on all aspects of software delivery of 15 product lines targeted at managing various aspects of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems.
Potter has extensive experience in the software development industry, and has demonstrated their ability to successfully lead large teams spread across multiple geographic locations. Mike is currently using their skills and experience to drive innovation as the Chief Technology Officer at Qlik.
Mike Potter completed a Master of Computer Science at the University of Ottawa, with a focus in Combinatorics. Mike also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the same school, which they received Magna Cum Laude.
They work with Poornima Ramaswamy - Chief Transformation Officer, Drew Clarke - Senior Vice President, Office of Strategy Management, and Dennis Johnson - Chief Financial Officer. Mike Potter reports to Mike Capone, CEO.
