Edgar Montañez, Arquitecto has a diverse work experience in the field of architecture. Edgar first worked as a Designer-Drafter at Julio Wright Architects from 2000 to 2004. Edgar then joined Innovation Wireless Group in 2004 as a Design, Permits, and Construction Manager, where they managed engineering, architecture, permitting, and compliance aspects for the development of co-location towers in Puerto Rico until 2009.
In 2009, Edgar became the Chief Operating Officer at QMC Telecom, LLC, a communications tower company. Edgar played a crucial role in developing, owning, and managing wireless communications towers in Puerto Rico and selected Latin American countries. Edgar worked alongside renowned executives and managers with extensive experience in the wireless and media industries. Edgar's responsibilities also included overseeing the operation of over 40 wireless towers and rooftops, with a pipeline of additional sites under development.
In 2017, Edgar joined simbioticA, PSC as a Principal Architect. Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, simbioticA is a design practice focused on creating symbiotic relationships between nature and architecture. Edgar's work involved designing buildings that minimize negative environmental impacts and prioritize the well-being of occupants. Edgar considered site potential, local resources, and the entire lifecycle of the buildings in their holistic approach to design.
Furthermore, Edgar actively participated in the Colegio de Arquitectos & Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico. Edgar served as the Treasurer from August 2021 to June 2022 and as the Secretary from November 2020 to July 2021.

Edgar Montañez, Arquitecto, began their education in 1995 at the Universidad del Turabo where they completed the STEP Pre-college program in Engineering. From 1997 to 2003, they attended the Universidad de Puerto Rico and earned a Bachelor's degree in Diseño Ambiental. Following this, they continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master's degree in Arquitectura, completing their studies in 2006.
In addition to their formal education, Edgar Montañez has also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they became a Puerto Rico Licensed Architect through the Departamento de Estado de Puerto Rico. In 2017, they acquired two certifications: Safety Assessment Program Evaluator from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, and Certified Specialty Contractor - Tower from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
