Enhancing Research Quality -  Structured Literature Searching & Referencing
Finding relevant scientific studies online (literature search) is essential for public health research, evidence synthesis, and good medical practice. Quality research, systematic reviews, and clinical decisions depend on finding, understanding, and using the right scientific evidence. However, structured training in these skills is often missing from health sciences education in India.
As a result, the quality of research may fall short, and true evidence may remain undiscovered or poorly represented. This affects not only academic work, but also clinical practice and public health decision-making.
QMed Knowledge Foundation has addressed this gap.
Since April 2008, QMed has helped students and professionals build a strong foundation for academics, research, and evidence-based practice by teaching structured literature searching & reference management. Our training helps learners save time, find better evidence, and improve the quality of their research and academic work. We also teach and support literature searching for authoring systematic reviews.
QMed has delivered over 600 lectures & webinars and conducted more than 270 workshops at institutions across India. Our founder and CEO, Ms. Vasumathi, is a recognized speaker with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and the Maharashtra Medical Council (Speaker Code: MMC/MASS/00030/2016). She received an International Award in 2013, secured an Education Grant from Pfizer in 2023 to conduct workshops at 10 AIIMS institutions, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the LIS Academy, Bengaluru in 2024. In 2026, QMed received accreditation from the Maharashtra Medical Council for webinars.
Since 2020, QMed introduced ELearning courses for institutions and individual learners. Available at www.qmedcourses.in, there are currently six courses and a curated library of resources to support the learning
