Johan Olivier

Johan Olivier has over 20 years of work experience in the software development industry. Johan began their career in 1998 as a Junior Developer at Chemical Check GmbH. In 1999, they joined PetroSA as a Software Developer & Analyst, where they were responsible for Business Analysis and Development. In 2000, they moved to Smacsoft as a Senior Software Developer, where they were responsible for all software development activities in the vertical solutions team. In 2006, they became a Technical Team Lead at Silverminute, where they were responsible for leading development team on a large scale micropayment integration project. In 2007, they joined Bytes Technology Group as a SharePoint Architect & Solutions Architect, where they were responsible for planning, developing, and implementing 47 custom developed SharePoint solutions for one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. In 2009, they moved to relate technologies as a SharePoint Solutions Architect, where they implemented a 68-point compliance checklist to ensure all custom solutions adhered to international standards for developing secure and robust SharePoint solutions. In 2012, they joined Qorus Software as a Security and Compliance Director, where they were responsible for driving SOC 2 Type 2 and Privacy compliance, leading Business Continuity Plans and Incident Response initiatives, and establishing and improving policies and procedures related to security and compliance. Johan was then promoted to Senior Vice President of Product Engineering and later Director of Product Engineering, where they acted as the Head of Product Development (Qorus Breeze Proposals) and was responsible for building highly effective development teams in Cape Town and India.

Johan Olivier is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. Previously, they completed a National Diploma in Information Technology at Cape Peninsula University of Technology between 1997 and 1999. Johan also holds a number of certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified Professional (2014), Microsoft Specialist (2014), Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (2011), Microsoft Certified Dynamics Professional (2008), Microsoft Certified Dynamics Specialist (2008), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (2007), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (2002), Microsoft Certified Associate: Azure Developer Associate (2020), and Microsoft Certified Professional (2001).
