Simone van Buuren

Simone van Buuren has worked in the software engineering field since 2013. Simone began their career as a Computer Lab Assistant at Belgium Campus. In 2014, they joined Sybrin Limited as a System Analyst and Developer and a Junior Implementer. In 2016, they moved to Full Facing (Pty) Ltd as a Software Developer. In 2017, they joined SPAN Digital Innovation as a Software Engineer. Currently, they are a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer at QorusDocs where they work closely with the SVP of Product Engineering and develops high-performing, robust, quality, and scalable features following best practices. Additionally, they mentor and onboard juniors, designs and discusses new features with team leads and architects, and forms part of the product planning process.

Simone van Buuren completed their High School education at Hoërskool Overkruin from 2007 to 2011. Simone then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Software Development and Engineering at Belgium Campus from 2012 to 2014. Finally, they earned an Honours Degree in Computer Science & AI at Belgium Campus in 2015. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications, a Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate from Microsoft in July 2021, and a Junior Nature Conservation certification.
