Jaakko Riihinen

Jaakko Riihinen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies. Jaakko has worked in various positions of leadership and responsibility throughout their career.

Starting in 1983, Riihinen worked as the Director of Marketing & Sales at Softman Ltd, a Finnish software house specializing in OEM software components for embedded real-time mission-critical systems.

In 1987, Riihinen became the CEO of AmbraSoft Finland Ltd, a European software house owned by Olivetti. During their time there, they worked on developing banking systems for Finnish banks, ERP systems for the service industry, ERP systems for the packaging glass industry, and customer care & billing systems for the mobile maritime messaging service of the Finnish PTT.

Moving on to Nokia Networks in 1992, Riihinen held the position of Program Manager, overseeing the development of the Nokia GSM switch. Jaakko later became the Business Development Manager, where they contributed to the focusing and consolidation of IP technology efforts within the company.

Within Nokia Networks, Riihinen also worked as the Head of Architecture and Technology, leading an internal consultant group and focusing the strategy of the IP Networking business unit on broadband access and redirecting R&D towards Internet Protocol-based technologies. Jaakko also served as the General Manager in Boston, supervising HR, facilities management, and the local IM organization, and as Director of the Service and Policy Management unit, where they transferred the unit from Nokia Venture Organization to Nokia Networks in anticipation of a greater demand for policy management.

In 2002, Riihinen joined Nokia Siemens Networks as the Director of Enterprise Architecture, responsible for Nokia's enterprise architecture globally. Jaakko later became the Head of Enterprise Architecture and Technology, overseeing enterprise architecture, IT architecture, and technology management for all businesses within the company. Jaakko then transitioned to the role of Head of Research and Development for the OSS Business Line, focusing on architecture and product portfolio renewal as well as lean and agile transformation.

Riihinen's most recent position was at QPR Software Plc, where they worked as the Senior Vice President of Products and Technologies. Jaakko was responsible for the company's product and technology strategies before taking on the role of Principal Consultant.

Jaakko Riihinen attended Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1977 to 1987, where they studied computer software engineering. Jaakko obtained a degree in this field. In 2017, they also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University through Coursera Course Certificates.
