Ben McGuckin

Ben McGuckin has over 18 years of professional experience in the legal and financial sectors. Ben currently holds the position of Head of Legal - Financial Markets at Queensland Treasury Corporation, a role they have held since September 2017. Prior to this, they served as Manager - Governance Risk & Compliance from May 2015 to June 2016 and Principal Legal Counsel, Funding & Markets from November 2006 to the present at the same company. Before joining Queensland Treasury Corporation, Ben was a Senior Associate in Corporate/M&A at Clayton Utz from January 2002 to November 2006. In addition, they worked as a Companies Advisor on secondment at the Australian Securities Exchange for a brief period from July 2005 to November 2005.

Ben McGuckin completed their education in a chronological order. In 1989, they attended Iona College, Brisbane, where they did not obtain a specific degree or field of study. From 1995 to 2001, Ben studied at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree along with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Finally, in 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Diploma of Financial Markets at the Australian Financial Markets Association.
