Brian Baxter

Brian Baxter is the current Executive Director at the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Brian has held this position since February 2018. Prior to their current role, Brian served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras from May 2012 to February 2017, and as the Director of Operations from May 2012 to February 2017. Brian also served as the Operations Manager from January 2010 to April 2012, and as the Operations Assistant from August 2008 to December 2009. In addition, Brian is a Co-Artistic Director of the Chicago Composers Orchestra and has been with the organization since July 2010. Brian also previously worked with The Newberry Consort as a Temporary Administrative Assistant from October 2009 to December 2009.

Prior to their work in the symphony world, Brian was a percussionist with the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre from May 2009 to August 2009, and a drummer and personnel manager with the Shout Section Big Band from January 2008 to September 2010. Brian also served as an orchestra and chorus personnel assistant with the Grant Park Music Festival from May 2008 to August 2008, and as a production intern with the Ravinia Festival from May 2007 to September 2007.

Brian Baxter has a Master of Music in Music Composition from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition and Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University.
