Cailean Carter

Cailean Carter is a PhD candidate at the Quadram Institute since January 2020, where responsibilities include organizing the QSF Student Science Showcase and serving as a member of the Equity, Inclusivity and Diversity Committee with a focus on neurodiversity advocacy. Additionally, Cailean holds the position of QSF Training Officer, and has experience as an iCASE student at the University of East Anglia and as a peer-assisted learning mentor. Recent academic involvement includes a visiting PhD student role at Oxford Brookes University to work in Mark Poolman's systems biology lab. Previous positions include receptionist at Glebe House Surgery, master's student at the Institute of Microbiology and Infection, administrative assistant at Knowledge Transfer Network, undergraduate student at the Roslin Institute, and biosciences research intern at Ingenza Ltd. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of East Anglia, a Master’s degree in Microbiology & Infection from the University of Birmingham, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (Infectious Diseases) from The University of Edinburgh.
