Lizbeth Sayavedra is a BBSRC Discovery Fellow at Quadram Institute, focusing on sulfate-reducing bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and their implications in inflammatory conditions. This role involves developing molecular genetic tools to understand the colonization dynamics of Desulphovibrio piger within the gut microbiome. Prior to this position, Lizbeth served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology. Lizbeth holds a Dr. rer. nat. and a Master of Science in Marine Microbiology from the Max Planck Institute, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Genomic Sciences from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Initial education includes a technical option in Computation from Escuela Nacional Preparatoria 6 - UNAM.
