In 1985, Magnus briefly studied Materials Science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Prior to that, they received a Chemical Engineering degree from Teknikum, Växjö in 1986. Magnus completed their secondary education at Väggaskolan, Karlshamn from 1981 to 1983, and at Stenbackaskolan from 1978 to 1981.
