Daniel Funes Garcia-Penche has extensive work experience in the technology industry, specializing in software engineering and leadership roles. Their most recent position is as the Head of Engineering at Qualifyze, where they started in March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Shotl, a Swvl company, from July 2019 to January 2023, serving as the CTO and Principal Engineer. During their time at Shotl, they led the engineering department's growth from a startup to a scale-up, managing a team of up to 50 individuals across multiple squads. Daniel conducted interviews with various profiles and levels, implemented the OKR framework for managing objectives, and contributed to the company's success.

Prior to that, Daniel worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Intercom Empresas from April 2015 to November 2017. Their responsibilities included web programming, API Rest development for mobile apps, and mentoring junior developers.

Daniel Funes Garcia-Penche completed a Certificate of Higher Education in Computer Science Management (CFGS) from IES La Pineda from 2008 to 2010. Daniel then pursued an Engineer's Degree in Computer Science from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, which they completed from 2010 to 2014. Later, from 2015 to 2017, they obtained a Master's Degree in Development for Mobile Devices from the same institution.
