Sebastian Pokutta has a diverse work experience in academia and industry. Sebastian currently holds the position of Vice President at Zuse Institute Berlin since September 2019. Sebastian is also a Co-Founder of Quantagonia, starting from November 2021.
Prior to these roles, Pokutta served as a Professor at Technische Universität Berlin starting in September 2019. In addition to their academic work, Pokutta has industry experience. Sebastian worked as a Senior Associate at KDB Krall Demmel Baumgarten GmbH and held roles as an Operations Research Consultant and Consultant (Optimization) at ILOG.

Sebastian Pokutta has an extensive education history in the field of Mathematics and Operations Research. Sebastian completed their PhD at the University of Duisburg-Essen from 1999 to 2005. Following their doctorate degree, they pursued further studies and completed a Post Doc in Mathematics & Operations Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen from 2005 to 2006. Sebastian then continued their post-doctoral studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management from 2006 to 2007, specializing in Operations Research.
