Dr. Lorien Pratt

Chief Scientist and Cofounder at Quantellia

Dr. Lorien Pratt has a wealth of work experience spanning from 1984 to the present. Dr. Lorien began their career in 1984 as an Associate Programmer and Component Owner for IBM, Systems Resource Manager (SRM). In 1988, they were a Teaching Assistant at Princeton University's Department of Psychology. In 1989, they were a Summer Intern at Bellcore (now Telcordia), researching applications of neural networks to telecommunications. From 1992 to 1996, they were a Professor of Computer Science at Colorado School of Mines, winning an NSF CAREER award and Colorado Advanced Software Institute Exemplary Research award, among others. In 1996, they became Director of Market Research at Evolving Systems, where they also held various software development positions. In 2002, they founded Lorien Pratt, LLC and also became a Senior Analyst at Technology Research Institute, co-authoring two reports. From 2004 to 2008, they were Global Director, OSS and Infrastructure at Stratecast Partners, a division of Frost and Sullivan. Finally, in 2008, they became Chief Scientist and Cofounder at Quantellia LLC, a software and consulting company offering machine learning and decision intelligence software and services.

Dr. Lorien Pratt began their educational journey in 1969 at Hampton Elementary and continued through 1973. Dr. Lorien then attended Madison West High School from 1976 to 1979. Following their high school graduation, they attended Dartmouth College from 1979 to 1983, earning an AB in Computer Science. Dr. Lorien then returned to Rutgers University, receiving an MS in Computer Science in 1988 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2003.
