Jefferson Florez, PhD, is a seasoned expert in the field of photonics and quantum imaging, currently serving as a Senior R&D Scientist and Senior Photonics Engineer at Quantinuum since September 2022. Prior to this role, Jefferson held the position of Research Associate in Quantum Imaging at Imperial College London from November 2020 to September 2022. Jefferson's academic journey includes a Research Fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light from August 2019 to October 2020, as well as roles as a Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa from January 2016 to July 2019 and at Universidad de Los Andes from September 2012 to December 2015. Jefferson obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the University of Ottawa, completing the degree in October 2020.
