Varun Kale

Varun Kale has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their current role as a Senior Analyst - Strategy & Analytics at QuantSpark since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Junior Data Science Consultant at CGI from September 2021 to March 2023. In this role, Varun analyzed various types of data using analytical and Business Intelligence tools, presented findings to senior stakeholders, and developed client relationships.

Before CGI, Varun worked as a Data Science intern at Amgen from July 2019 to August 2020. During their internship, they were part of the Data Sciences team and contributed to the development of an R package for predicting the probability of achieving target enrolment time of drug trials.

Outside of the data science field, Varun has coaching experience in cricket. Varun worked as a Cricket Coach at Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy Limited from April 2017 to July 2019, where they coached children aged 5-12 in cricket. Prior to that, they volunteered as a Cricket Coach at Stony Stratford Cricket Club from June 2012 to July 2019, where they trained younger children in the sport and obtained a level 2 ECB coaching certificate.

In addition to their work experience, Varun also had brief roles as a Retail Assistant at Next in March-April 2018, and as a System Analyst intern at The Open University in February 2017, where they gained exposure to cyber security systems.

Varun Kale began their education at The Royal Latin School from 2015 to 2017, where they obtained their A Levels. Following that, they attended the University of Surrey from 2017 to 2021, pursuing a BSc in Data Science for Health. During their time at the University of Surrey, they completed a Professional Training Year in 2019/20.

In addition to their formal education, Varun has also obtained several certifications. In November 2022, they acquired a certification in Data Strategy from 365 Data Science. Varun obtained the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in August 2022. In June 2022, they received a certification in Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy from LinkedIn. Varun has also achieved several Microsoft certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, and Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, all obtained in 2022. Furthermore, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning, Data Science and Deep Learning with Python from Udemy in February 2022, and a certification in Python - Pandas Advanced Features from Skillsoft in November 2021.
