Jana Lehner has held a number of roles in the technology industry since 1996. Jana began their career as a Software Engineer at sd&m software design & management in 1996. In 1998, they moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Postdoc Researcher. Jana then worked as a Postdoc Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in 1999. That same year, they began working as a Business Consultant at PwC Deutschland. In 2002, Jana joined IBM, where they held roles such as IBM Quantum Ambassador, Process Optimization Owner IBM Services EMEA Workforce Management, Data Analyst and Reporting SME in Workforce Management Germany, and Business Consultant. In 2021, they were appointed Chief Of Staff at Quantum Brilliance.

Jana Lehner began their educational career in 1988, when they attended Friedrich Schiller University Jena and earned their Diploma in Physics with a focus in Nonlinear Optics and Particle Physics in 1994. Jana then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics, Theoretical Quantum Optics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, which they completed in 1997.
