Pat Scott

Pat Scott has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. They are currently working as a Software Lead at Quantum Brilliance since 2022. In this role, they have led a team of 5 remote software engineers, managed the development and release of the Qristal full-stack quantum software development kit, and collaborated with C-level executives on product and tech activities.

Prior to that, Pat worked at The University of Queensland from 2019 to 2022. They held the position of ARC Future Fellow Step 2 (Associate Professor) and Senior Lecturer in Physics. Their responsibilities included conducting research in computational particle/astroparticle physics, lecturing astrophysics and computational physics, and mentoring postdocs and graduate students. They were also the spokesperson and lead developer of the GAMBIT Collaboration.

Before joining The University of Queensland, Pat worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Synchron for a brief period from 2021 to 2022.

Pat's earlier experience includes various roles at Imperial College London, where they held positions such as Senior Lecturer in Fundamental Physics, Lecturer in Fundamental Physics, and STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellow from 2014 to 2019.

They also worked as an NSERC/Tri-Agency Banting Fellow at McGill University from 2010 to 2014.

Pat Scott earned a BSc (Double Hons) in Astrophysics and Neuroscience from The Australian National University in 2005. Later, Pat pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Theoretical Physics from Stockholm University and completed it in 2010.
