Joe Ghalbouni

Joe Ghalbouni, PhD, currently serves as the Head of Risk at Quantum Strategy Institute since June 2021. Previously, Joe held the position of Core Innovation Research Lead at Point72 from March 2022 to June 2025, focusing on applied research for the asset management industry. Joe's academic background includes serving as an Associate Professor of Physics and a researcher in Quantum Computing and Communication at Lebanese University from September 2014 to December 2021, and a role as a Lecturer in Computer Science at AUL in July 2014. Joe commenced a PhD in Quantum Communication at Télécom ParisTech from October 2010 to November 2013, culminating in a thesis on multiuser distribution of polarization entangled photon pairs at telecommunication wavelengths. Joe also holds a Master's degree in Physics from Université de Bretagne Occidentale and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
