Dimitri Staessens

Dimitri Staessens is a Principal Engineer in Software Development at Quantum, where involvement in ActiveScale began in March 2020. Prior experience includes serving as a Principal Engineer in Software Engineering at Western Digital, also focused on ActiveScale from April 2019 to March 2020. Dimitri's research background includes a position as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Ghent University - IMEC, from October 2012 to April 2019, specializing in Future Network Architectures and Software Defined Networks, alongside technical project management and leadership in European Projects. Earlier experience includes a Doctoral Researcher role at IBBT - University of Ghent, from March 2005 to October 2012, with emphasis on designing reliable next-generation core networks for triple play services. Dimitri holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Ghent University, acquired between 1999 and 2004.
