Jb Straubel

JB Straubel is a prominent engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the technology and renewable energy sectors. As the founder and CEO of Redwood Materials since 2017, Straubel focuses on sustainable materials and battery recycling. In addition, Straubel has served as a board member at QuantumScape since December 2019 and as president of the Straubel Foundation since 2015. Previously, Straubel co-founded Tesla and held the position of CTO from 2004 to July 2019, playing a crucial role in the company's development. Earlier career roles include co-founding Volacom and working as a propulsion engineer at Rosen Motors. Straubel holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Stanford University and completed secondary education at Edgewood High School.
