Kewei Xu has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. They started their career as a Polymer Engineer intern at Rhodia in 2012. They then worked as a Renewable Energy Researcher and Molecular Modeling Researcher at Syracuse University from 2013 to 2015, during which they also served as a General Physics lecturer and teaching assistant. From 2015 to 2020, Kewei worked at Caltech, where they held several positions including Rise Program Lecturer, High-Resolution Terahertz Frequency Comb Researcher, All Solid-State 3D Architected Battery Researcher, and Physical Chemistry lecturer and TA. They then joined Western Digital as a Hardware Engineer in 2020 for a short period. Currently, Kewei Xu is working as a Battery Engineer at QuantumScape starting from January 2021.
Kewei Xu began their education in 2011 at Syracuse University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with Distinction in Chemistry. During their time there, they also took a minor in Mathematics. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2015, they enrolled at Caltech for a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry, which they completed in 2018. Following this, Kewei Xu decided to further their education and joined the University of Southern California in 2019. Kewei pursued a Master's degree in Materials Engineering, which they successfully obtained in 2021.
