Kirsten Hessler

Kirsten Hessler is an accomplished professional in the field of materials science and engineering with extensive experience in metrology and process development. As a Director and Principal Member of Technical Staff at QuantumScape since December 2019, Kirsten built and led a team to develop advanced optical metrology systems and managed the deployment of over ten custom metrology systems for battery production. Prior experience includes a role as Process Development Engineer at Alta Devices, where Kirsten engineered a new generation of thin film solar cells and coordinated cross-functional efforts. Additional internships and research positions at prestigious organizations, including HGST, MIT Electrochemical Energy Lab, OSRAM, and Max-Planck Institute, contributed to a robust technical foundation. Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University, along with a MicroMasters in Statistics and Data Science from MIT.
