Sergiy Dobrovolskiy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Sergiy started their career as a Junior Researcher at the Kharkov Insitute for Theoretical Physics, National Science Center "KIPT" in 1997 before becoming a Lecturer at V. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Sergiy then pursued their Ph.D. while still working as a Lecturer. After completing their Ph.D., they joined the Kharkov Insitute for Theoretical Physics, National Science Center "KIPT" as a Researcher. In 2002, they became a Post-Doctoral researcher at AMOLF and later worked as a Research Engineer at FOM "Rijnhuizen" Plasmaphysics Institute from 2006 to 2008. Moving forward, they joined TU Delft as a Post-Doctoral/Guest Researcher, where they focused on the development of photovoltaic materials and devices. Sergiy also served as a Daily Supervisor for a Master's project during their time at TU Delft. In 2013, they joined Single Quantum as a R&D and Production Engineer, where they contributed to the research and development of superconducting single photon detectors. Sergiy progressed to the role of Senior R&D and Production Engineer before leaving the company in 2019 to join Microsoft as a Nanofabrication Engineer. At Microsoft, they worked in the fabrication team of Microsoft Station Q in Delft, focusing on the development and fabrication of topological qubits. In 2021, they joined QuantWare as a Senior Fabrication Engineer. Currently, Sergiy Dobrovolskiy works as a Coordinator at Help4Ukraine. Netherlands. starting from 2022.
Sergiy Dobrovolskiy completed their education at various institutions over the years. From 1981 to 1991, they attended Primary&Secondary School #55 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Following this, they enrolled at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in theoretical physics from 1991 to 1997. Sergiy graduated with honors, earning their M.Sc. degree. Continuing their academic journey, Dobrovolskiy pursued their Ph.D. in physics of nucleus, elementary particles, and high energies at the same university from 1997 to 2000.
