Quay Street Productions was founded by prolific multi-winning producer Nicola Shindler OBE. Sitting within ITV Studios, the label is based in central Manchester and focusses on producing premium drama for the UK and international market. With over 25 years’ experience in television and renowned for her relationships with writers, Nicola Shindler has produced some of the UK’s most beloved and memorable dramas, including Years and Years, Happy Valley, Queer As Folk, Last Tango in Halifax, The Stranger and forthcoming series include Finding Alice, No Return, Ridley Road, Traces and It’s A Sin. In January 2021, Nicola founded and launched independent production company Quay Street Productions to create modern, innovative, and entertaining programming. Marking her passion for her Northern heritage, Quay Street Productions is named after the famous Manchester street where Granada Television was based and where she spent a part of her early career. Previously, Nicola founded RED Production Company in 1998, where she was Chief Executive for twenty two years, and she also previously served as chief executive and chief creative officer at StudioCanal UK.
