Tiong Lee

Tiong Lee is an accomplished engineering leader with significant expertise in query optimization, data warehousing, and analytics processing. Currently, Tiong serves as the Engineering Leader for the Query Engine at Dremio, overseeing SQL Planning and Reflection teams to enhance performance through advanced query optimization and intelligent caching. As the founder of Qubical, Inc., Tiong has focused on Apache Spark Query Acceleration. Prior experience includes leading the engineering team at Samsung Electronics America, where Tiong architected a Unified Data Warehouse, and serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Ooyala, contributing to the development of a flagship analytics product. Tiong's technical background is further supported by roles at Vitria Technology, Oracle, and ClearApp Inc, along with contributions to various open-source projects. Tiong holds a Master of Arts in Management Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
