Watercolor Painting Workshop Instructor at Queens Botanical Garden

Chemin Hsiao is an accomplished artist and educator with extensive experience in fine arts and teaching. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at both the College of Mount Saint Vincent and the New York School of Interior Design, Chemin instructs courses in "Watercolor Painting" and "Drawing I," as well as foundational visual concepts. Chemin has also been teaching watercolor workshops at Queens Botanical Garden since 2018 and has a notable career as a mural artist, with public art commissions across New York. In addition to artistic endeavors, Chemin has held various teaching positions at different educational institutions, spearheading courses in drawing, painting, and animation for students of various ages. Chemin holds an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay and a BFA in Animation from the School of Visual Arts, complemented by a BA in English Language and Literature from Soochow University.

Queens Botanical Garden is an urban oasis where people, plants, and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs, and demonstrations of environmental stewardship. ********************************************************************************************************************************** Located at the northeast corner of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Flushing, QBG evolved from the 5-acre “Gardens on Parade” exhibit showcased at the 1939-1940 New York World’s Fair. Officially opening as Queens Botanical Garden in 1948 after local residents saved and grew the original exhibit, QBG has become a 39-acre urban oasis in one of the city’s most bustling and diverse neighborhoods. QBG is an urban oasis where people, plants and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs and real-world applications of environmental stewardship. QBG is located on property owned by the City of New York, and its operation is made possible in part by public funds provided through the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Queens Borough President, the New York City Council, State elected officials, the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, along with corporate, foundation, and individual supporters.
