Mary Lowenburg

Bureau Chief, Major Economic Crimes at Queens District Attorney's Office

Mary Lowenburg has extensive work experience in the legal field. Mary began their career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Criminal Court and Intake Bureau from September 1998 to April 2000. Following this, they worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Narcotics Investigations Bureau from April 2000 to May 2007, where they focused on eavesdropping investigations targeting gang violence, firearms trafficking, and narcotics trafficking.

In June 2007 to December 2008, Mary served as a Supervisor in the Auto Crime and Insurance Fraud Unit. From January 2009 to May 2020, they held the position of Chief, leading investigations into auto crime and insurance fraud. During this time, they also tried felony cases and conducted hearings related to enterprise corruption, auto crime, and insurance fraud.

In September 2015 to May 2020, Mary served as Deputy Bureau Chief in the Organized Crime and Rackets division. In this role, they supervised a team of twelve Assistant District Attorneys who handled complex investigations and litigation concerning various crimes such as enterprise corruption, auto crime, financial crimes, and more.

Mary has also shared their knowledge and expertise as a Lecturer at the New York Prosecutors Training Institute from 2008 to 2019. Additionally, they served as an Adjunct Professor at Farmingdale State College from September 2014 to September 2016.

Mary Lowenburg attended Saint Peter's University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government. Mary then went on to attend Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained their Juris Doctor degree.
