Brett Dascombe

Lead Endorser, Lead Confirmer, Marker, Writer at Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA)

Brett Dascombe has extensive work experience in the education field. Brett started their career in 2001 as a Secondary School Teacher, teaching Geography and other subjects. Brett has led the development of a dynamic junior and senior geography program and has incorporated geospatial technologies into assessment. Brett also worked as a Seconded Resource Writer for the Queensland Department of Education, where they developed curriculum resources for the National Geography Curriculum.

In 2008, Brett joined the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) as a Syllabus writer, panelist, and QCS marker. Brett later became an Endorser for the Year 12 Senior Geography Syllabus, participated in endorsement processes, and served as a lead endorser, lead confirmer, and marker for external geography exams.

In 2018, Brett worked as a Sessional Academic at QUT, where they lectured and provided tutorials for Australian Geographical Studies. Brett created their own content and utilized various mapping platforms to enhance student learning.

From 1998 to 2001, Brett Dascombe attended QUT (Queensland University of Technology), where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). Their studies focused on Geography, Literature, and Secondary School Education.
