Rachel Chay currently serves as the Deputy Director General and Chief Biosecurity Officer for the Queensland Government since January 2023. Prior to this role, Rachel held several key positions at the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority from March 2019 to January 2023, including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director, and Director of Veterinary Medicines. Rachel's experience also includes serving as Chief Veterinarian and General Manager of Education at Greencross Vets from March 2012 to February 2019, and as an Emergency Veterinarian at BVECCS from June 2007 to February 2011. Academic credentials include an Executive Masters of Public Administration from ANZSOG, a Master's degree in Human Resources and Organisational Development from Southern Cross University, and a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from The University of Queensland. Rachel completed secondary education at Clayfield College in Brisbane.
