Toby Proctor

Toby Proctor is an experienced professional in the field of bioprocess engineering and manufacturing science. Currently serving as the Director of External Manufacturing at Quell Therapeutics since February 2025, Toby previously held the position of Head of Manufacturing Science and Technology at adthera bio from September 2023 to January 2025. At Achilles Therapeutics plc, from September 2018 to September 2023, Toby advanced through roles including Head of Manufacturing Science & Technology, Head of Bioprocessing, Principal Bioprocess Engineer, and Senior Bioprocess Engineer. Earlier experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UCL, focusing on device design for GMP operations, and leadership roles at Eton College, where Toby directed summer schools for Japanese and Middle Eastern students. Toby's educational background includes an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Biochemical Engineering from UCL and an MSci in Human Biology from the University of Birmingham.
